During the STRT1UP Roadshow, lots of companies around the state pitched on the Startup Maryland bus.
They were looking to get exposure from the video evidence it provided, but also looking to move on to the next round.
“Our review panels had a very challenging time winnowing the Pitch Across Maryland field to only eight finalists this year,” said Mike Binko, founder and CEO of Startup Maryland. “The word is out and our tour stop partners really brought their A-game in helping identify and encourage strong startups to participate in this year’s tour.”
The overall finalists, known as the “Great 8,” will get a chance to make a lengthier pitch. They are:

The finalists will get to make longer pitches at the STRT1UP Showcase on Dec. 6. TEDCO is also set to fast-track two companies for a briefing that could result in $100,000 in seed funding. The companies will have to submit an application.
