Appomattox County investigating cybersecurity incident

“Appomattox County and Appomattox County School District announced they are investigating a cybersecurity incident that impacted both organizations.“

“The county and school district said once they discovered the issue, they contacted some of the nation’s leading outside cybersecurity experts to help secure their systems and investigate the cause. They are also working with state and federal authorities on the investigation. “

“The county reported all public services and safety operations are fully functional. The school’s safety operations are also in full working order, including security cameras and doors, and phone systems. “
