“According to Lamoille County Sheriff Roger Marcoux, the department had been locked out of their accounts from July 4-17, with the department only just having regained access on their phones as of July 18. “
“Marcoux said the department’s email provider, CJIS Solutions, a vendor based in Little Falls, N.J., that provides legally compliant and secure email and document storage services, was the victim of a ransomware attack by a “bad state actor,” and demanded a ransom before allowing access to the emails of multiple law enforcement agencies that contract with the company. “
