ASPIRE SURGICAL NOTIFIES PATIENTS OF DATA SECURITY INCIDENT

“UT Specialty Dental Services, PLLC a/k/a Aspire Surgical announced today that it is notifying individuals whose information was involved in a recent cybersecurity incident. On December 7, 2022, Aspire Surgical discovered a cybersecurity incident that impacted its IT systems. Immediately upon identifying the incident, Aspire Surgical quickly engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to assess, contain, and remediate the incident. Law enforcement was also notified.“

“An investigation into the scope of the incident was launched to determine what, if any, information was accessed and acquired by the unauthorized party. The investigation determined that certain patients’ information may have been exposed to the unauthorized party, including the following categories of information: name, patient account number, date of service and amount paid. There was no evidence that medical treatment records, social security numbers or financial information for patients were exposed.“

“While the investigation did not find any instances of fraud or identity theft that have occurred as a result of this incident, out of an abundance of caution, Aspire Surgical is notifying individuals whose personal information was involved and providing resources they can use to help protect their information. Aspire Surgical is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through IDX. Aspire Surgical also recommends that individuals review any statements they receive from their health care providers or health insurers. If individuals see any medical services that they did not receive, please call the provider or insurer immediately.“
