Cyber attack impacting real estate matters at Florence County Register of Deeds office

“A cyber-attack of the company that provides services for the Florence County County Register of Deeds office has halted the issuance of real estate recordings, according to Florence County Clerk of Court/Register of Deeds Doris Poulos O’Hara.“

“A news release said on "December 26, 2022 Cott Systems notified our office that their system was compromised. Cott System, the vendor, is actively working to identify the cause and resolve the issue to get the Register of Deeds Office back up and running." “

“The Clerk of Court/Register of Deeds Office is responsible for filing, indexing and recording deeds, mortgages, plats, federal tax liens, uniform commercial codes, mechanic's liens and other documents pertaining to real property. “
