Cybersecurity incident affects emergency alert tool used by South Carolina agencies

“The South Carolina Emergency Management Division said it and cannot access one of its alert tools after a cybersecurity incident.“

“SCEMD said there is a nationwide outage of the CodeRED notification system, which is used by emergency management agencies in South Carolina. “

““Due to the outage, SCEMD is currently unable to access FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System through the CodeRED platform,” SCEMD said. “
