Ohio village gets hit with cybersecurity ransom attack

“The Village of Golf Manor fell victim to the ransomware attack, resulting in the loss of its computer files, including all of their backups, according to Resolution No. 2025-30. “

“On Nov. 24, the village council met to discuss Resolution No. 2025-30, which proposes to pay for the guidance of a third-party group of experts to help. “

“The resolution says the experts may advise the village to “make a ransom payment” in exchange for the decryption key for the village’s computer networks and backup data. “
