What we know about the status of Akron library services 1 week after ransomware attack

“On May 30, the Akron-Summit County Public Library experienced a systemwide technology outage, impacting the phones, website and other electronic services at all of its locations. “

“A week later, the library system, which includes a main library in downtown Akron and 18 branches, has been able to restore some services after what was confirmed by library officials to be a ransomware attack. “

“The outage impacted the library system's phones, public website, printing, library computers and databases. The buildings themselves, however, have remained open. “
