New Mexico County Hit by Suspected Ransomware Attack

Ransomware Attack Takes New Mexico Jail Offline

“-"A ransomware attack left the Albuquerque area jail vulnerable last week. The attack locked access to the facility’s camera feeds and made automatic door mechanisms unusable. Authorities put the prison facility into lockdown as they didn’t have access to cameras within the facility." -" the attack corrupted the jail’s database. The database contained all inmate records and reports of fighting, use of force, and allegations of sexual assault." -"The ransomware attack affected the whole of Bernalillo County, not just the detention center. Due to this, government employees could not access any local databases. All public offices were temporarily closed, and county office headquarters were only partially re-opened."“
