Gaylord hospital computer system was hacked in October, no indication patient data was involved

“Officials at Munson Healthcare have confirmed that a security breach in October at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord resulted in the temporary closing of its computer system.“

“Megan Brown, Munson Healthcare's chief marketing and communications officer, said there was a cyber breach at the hospital (OMH) last month. Brown said the incident only affected OMH and did not occur at any of the other Munson facilities in Northern Michigan. “

“"At the time we did execute procedures and work arounds to ensure that patients were still being treated and everything was running smoothly," she said. "We have no reason to believe that patient data was compromised at this time. We are actively engaged with outside experts on our investigation into what happened and that is not complete yet." “
