“Blaine County’s emergency alert platform, CodeRED, was the victim of an organized cyber attack, potentially compromising user data including names, addresses, emails, phone numbers and CodeRED passwords. “
“Blaine County was notified that CodeRED was down two weeks ago, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and notified of the data breach Friday, said Blaine County Emergency Manager Chris Corwin in a Tuesday call. Blaine County notified residents on its website Monday and posted the information to the Blaine County Facebook page on Tuesday. “
“Users are advised to stay vigilant and watch for suspicious activity in personal accounts as well as look out for unusual calls, texts or emails. Additionally, if a user’s CodeRED password is used for any other accounts, the user is advised to change these passwords immediately. “
