According to sources, St. Lucie County (a Government organization in Florida) was hit with a cyber attack. It was first reported on 2023-11-13.
“St. Lucie County Tax Collector Chris Craft says his office is working feverish to restore service after a ransomware group hacked into the computer system two weeks ago.“
“"First of all, we want to reassure the public that none of their sensitive data has been compromised — we don't store that here, its stored at the state level and with our vendor. They have assured us none of it is here and are 100% confident nothing from our site got into theirs," said Craft. “
“Monday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Dark Web Informer, a group that monitors hacks says a notorious ransomware cartel called Alphv/Black Cat is taking credit for it. “
“The county commission network was also part of the initial outage. A spokesman said investigators are still trying to determine if it was also hacked, but most of the computers are back online. “
