Ransomware incident affecting Ridgefield schools network, officials say

“School officials in Ridgefield said they detected a ransomware attack on the district's computer network last week, prompting them to take the network offline.“

“In Ridgefield, the public schools' cybersecurity tools "detected attempts to execute an encryption virus on the computer network" on July 24, the district said in an FAQ posted to its website. “

“The district said services would be restored in a "staggered" manner as systems were cleared to return to use, expecting them to be back online in time for sports registration for the 2025-26 school year. “
