Aurora Public Schools Resume Services Post-Cyberattack, Security Concerns Linger

“After enduring a week of downtime due to "suspicious activity" that struck the digital backbone of their institution, Aurora Public Schools have reinstated the majority of their internet and phone services. “

“This cyber interruption, which commenced on January 14, caused the district to proactively take systems offline, APS spokesperson Corey Christiansen shared, as per FOX31. Restoring a semblance of digital normalcy, the services were up and running again by the end of the week. “

“Classes were affected as well, as school officials pointed to an internet security breach that sparked the shutdown of the district's internal network and subsequently, its internet-based phone system. “
